My observations: The samples I listened to seem sort of average for traditional Irish music groups. Not stellar, but not terrible. However, I believe the cautionary advice against Sixpenny was something along the lines of "...they can't even pull off a soundcheck in reasonable time..." which suggests general competency may be the issue, regardless of the quality of specific recordings.  BTW, the leader, Larry Milder, is the Rabbi at Beth Emek in Pleasanton.
