my observations: They performed here in 2022. Technical proficiency is high. Their management specifically asked to have the 4 PC band with Tod Dickow return to LJS. Fusion heads who are really into Michael Brecker really dig it (because that's all they do). To me, it was more like a tribute band. My beef isn't about their competency at all -- it's about:
their super-aggressive management. I'll suggest this allows them to capture gigs from less-well-known but equally (or more) deserving contenders (winner-take-all)
Jon Krosnick insisted that I remove our house drums on the spot so he could load in his large fusion kit.
The energy level was too high for my taste throughout the concert.
Most importantly, Jon blamed our website for his poor showing (only 7 attended), which was off-putting to me. Afterwards, I felt like it had been a mistake to book them. They are very busy -- booked everywhere in every season, and often touring abroad. Average in-person attendance for 2022 was ~18, so their draw was significantly below-average. Most other groups drew better.
