• My Observations: Modern jazz, again, this time in a piano-less trio. This is somehow a lot more compelling to me than the Daniel Bennett Group (and one less voice to boot). I’m not usually a fan of pianoless jazz trios, but their material is pretty good. They are based in Chicago/NYC/Milwaukee, so the logistics of lining up a slot that coincides with a planned tour are again somewhat daunting.
